Job Title: Reservoir Engineer
Reporting Line: Reports to the Head Subsurface
Job Description
Reservoir Studies:

  • Conducts reservoir simulation studies to determine optimum methods of maximizing ultimate oil recovery and enhance individual well performance.
  • Propose studies with the objectives to improve field management.
  • Perform Reservoir Engineering studies related to classical analytical techniques (material balance analysis, fractional flow, decline analysis, numerical techniques) for primary depletion and secondary recovery (water/gas injection) projects.

Production/Oil Recovery Support:

  • Monitors production from field, analyses all relevant data and ensures that reservoirs are being properly managed, production is optimized and recoveries are optimal.
  • Develop strategies to improve field production and recovery.
  • Prepares production testing proposals and provides guidelines for execution. Evaluate, interpret results and recommend optimum methods of performance monitoring.
  • Prepare detailed short, medium and long-term production forecasts.

Reservoir Management:

  • Establish reservoir management strategies where they do not exist and update existing policies and procedures in line with statutory regulations.
  • Manage and direct reservoir surveillance activities (MER, BHP etc.) and reservoir definition and behaviour prediction.
  • Employ standard procedures and guidelines to estimate oil and gas reserves, and prepare/ document Annual Report of Producing Reservoirs (ARPR).
  • Challenge/screen well proposals and perform well evaluations and post mortem reviews.
  • Conduct, document and present field reviews and further development proposals.
  • Study and rank potential infill, recompletion and work-over targets

General Engineering:

  • Ensure migration of reservoir engineering studies/ projects from third party contractor(s) and formulate implementation plans.
  • Ensure that all Reservoir Engineering work is performed to a quality standard which fits the purpose for which it is intended.
  • Attend data rooms, to gather and evaluate information and provide reservoir engineering input to the asset evaluation report.
  • Implement Company’s health, safety and environmental policy, procedure and regulation as they relate to area of responsibility.
  • Participate in Operational duties outside office hours.
  • Participate in Wells Engineering and Drilling activities in the company.
  • Carry out other tasks as delegated by the Head Subsurface

Work Experience

  • Minimum of ten (10) years reservoir management experience with an operating company or specialist service company
  • University Degree in Petroleum Engineering or any related field service
  • A Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering will be an advantage
  • Membership of professional bodies; e.g. Nigerian Society of Engineers, National Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPEE), Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Registration with COREN etc. shall be an advantage

Job Title: Production Technologist
Reports to: The Head Subsurface
Job Description

  • Monitor and evaluate well, reservoir and field performance with a view to optimizing daily production and recoverable reserves through the design of well completions (particularly horizontal completions) and artificial lift methods, understanding the constraints on the wells, reservoirs and facilities
  • Provide Production technology input to field development plans, including well completion design, well performance prediction, optimum artificial lift method, production chemistry issues, processing facilities, HSE issues, risks and uncertainties, etc.
  • Advise operating departments on the physical constraints applicable to the well / reservoir / field production (e.g. sand, water, gas production, scaling potential, corrosion potential, etc.
  • Identify areas of poor performance and formulate solutions through proposals for well interventions that will improve productivity
  • Initiate and participate in the design and programming of well completions, in particular horizontal completions, with the aim of optimizing well inflow performance for the (mostly horizontal) liner completions
  • Assist in drawing up a sand management strategy, addressing monitoring, prediction and exclusion methods
  • Actively search for improvements, keeping abreast of new technology and incorporating it where applicable to improve the Company’s overall effectiveness.


  • Minimum of ten (10) years practical production technology experience with an operating company or specialist service company
  • Degree in Engineering and Physical Sciences
  • SPE or any related professional qualification will be ideal.

Job Description

  • The Mooring Master acts as Chevron representative on Export Tankers.
  • He is the point of contact with government representatives and officials during exports to ensure efficient, coordinated export activities are achieved.
  • Perform export tanker arrival safety inspection and ensures compliance of Export Tankers, Masters, Officers and crew with Chevron requirements.

  • Safe pilotage/Mooring operations and export tanker approach to berths

  • Responsible for export tanker safe position keepiong once export tanker is safely moored at Chevron Terminals.

  • Supervision of Mooring Technicians during all mooring operations and hose conneciton and disconnection.
  • Hold back tug connection and disconnection
  • Pre-loading activities including all check lists
  • Communication between export tanker, Terminal and hold back tug
  • All Cargo/Ballast Handling operations

Coordination with his Supervisor on export operations planning, including:

  • Export tanker scheduling
  • Partner requirements

  • Inward and outward clearance
  • All aspects of government and agent liaison

The Mooring Master shall have:

  • An unlimited Class 1 Deck License with an appropriate dangerous cargo endorsement for crude oil.
  • Served in a senior capacity on board tankers > 25.000 tonnes during their sea going career for at least 36 months.
  • Skill in the shiphandling of large tankers. Offshore Marine Terminal operations.
  • Served for a minimum of (10) years as a Mooring Master experienced with safe berthing of tankers at offshore terminal export facilities.
  • Takes a proactive role in safetry and environmental management consistent with Policy 530, API RP 14C/14J guidelines, ISGOTT, OCIMF guidelines, applicable maritime regulatory requirements and accepted industry standard for safety and environmental practices.
  • Monitors and supports Field HES programs including safety training , compliance reviews, near-miss/incidents investigation and reporting emergency preparedness and response spill reporting and response, safety and communications meetings and process improvement initiatives.
  • Complies with Chevron behavioral safety principles.
  • Responsible for ensuring training of new recruits and trainee Mooring Masters/Loading Masters is conducted in a timely and professional manner.
  • An extensive knowledge of SPM type facilities including but not limited to export operations and maintenance of all equipment and systems.
  • High quality communications skills and be able to coordinate activities remotely when operating outside of normal work locations.
  • Core skills associated with Bridge Resource Management are essential all Mooring Masters must be able to understand personal limitations and assess operational risk in order to develop mitigation plans.
  • Capability of working a 28/28 day rotational assignment in a remote location
  • Support the implementation of the Chevron Operational Excellence Management System – OEMS processes, ensures all marine operations conducted at Chevron Terminals are completed safely and in compliance with the Company Safe Operating Procedures.


  • Unlimited Ocean-Going Master Mariner license with “Dangerous Cargo” (Oil & Gas) endorsement


  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in marine transportation, offshore terminals, mooring and cargo transfer operations

Additional Requirement:

Job Summary

  • Within the Support Services Division, the Public Relations & Information Department is responsible for presenting OPEC objectives, decisions and actions in their true and most desirable perspective, disseminating news of general interest regarding the Organization and the Member Countries on energy and related matters and carrying out a central information programme and identifying suitable areas for the promotion of the Organization’s aims and image.

Objective of Position

  • To assist the Head of Department in formulating strategies for creating and maintaining a positive public image for the Organization and in the execution of these strategies and related policies and decisions; to provide timely information through the most effective means to targeted audiences as well as the general public about OPEC, its aims and objectives, its activities, its decisions and their rationale, and its positions on topical issues in the industry; and to coordinate the programme of the Public Relations Team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Advises and assists the Head of Department in elaborating concepts and approaches for increasing public and institutional awareness about the aims and objectives of OPEC as well as OPEC’s positions on topical issues.
  • Conducts briefings for visiting students and groups to the Secretariat.
  • Produces, in collaboration with the Editorial and the Design and Production Services teams, special publications (press kits, specialized magazines, flyers, posters etc.) for strategic audiences with the objective of disseminating positive messages about the Organization.
  • Produces – with external assistance as appropriate – TV programmes for local, national and international TV channels.
  • Identifies and advises on events and activities in which OPEC’s participation could enhance the Organization’s image.
  • Coordinates visits of journalists at OPEC events, and provides necessary assistance (including arranging interviews, press kits and gift items).
  • Advises on and assists the Head of Department in initiating and coordinating programmes aimed at promoting the image of OPEC with its role of stabilizing the international oil market.
  • Establishes and maintains good network of media contacts and manages media relations through proactive communications by organizing interviews, inputs to editorial supplements, leveraging of OPEC reports etc.

Required Competencies and Qualifications

  • The Company rep is designated Responsible for Safety and Environment on Site delegate (RSES-D) and is directly accountable for the safe execution of the offshore works.

Installation Activities
The SERVICE holder is UFR Contractor’s focal point for day to day activity onboard the installation vessel. In a narrow coordination with the UFR Installation team based in Lagos, the SERVICE holder shall:

  • Supervise that the agreed procedures are respected during all the offshore presence of the installation vessel on Company site, mainly for the following activities performed onboard the vessel by URF Contractor:
    • Supply / Barge activities alongside or at close vicinity of the vessel
    • Transfer of equipment onboard the vessel
    • Deck operations o Lifting, overboarding, lowering and landing of subsea structures
    • Subsea ROV works
  • Ensure that any modification of the agreed procedure is covered by the Management Of Change agreed process
  • Sign in due time and when satisfactory preparation level has been achieved each specific Ready For Installation certificate.
  • Communicate with onshore support to:
    • Plan the coming operations
    • Mobilise offshore relevant personnel from other packages (i.e. SPS & Umbilical Contractor Personnel)
  • Communicate, in accordance with the defined project procedures, with COMPANY Representative acting onboard other vessel(s) working at Site in case of co-activities or SIMOPS activities


  • The SERVICE holder is responsible, onboard the installation vessel, to ensure that COMPANY HSE standards are applied throughout the operations and participates to hazard assessments for any activity involving the vessel.
